Mountain cottage Stará horáreň is located in the village Lanyi huta 3km from the town Dobšiná.It is situated between wooded hills and mountain meadows on the edge of the Slovak Paradise. It lies at an altitude of 655 m above sea level and can be reached by car on an asphalt road and for pedestrians this road is marked with yellow tourist sign no. 8745 / a. From the main square in Dobsina go left along SNP street and Zahradna street.

From the main square in Dobšiná turn left along SNP street and then Záhradná street, then continue on the asphalt road to the village of Lanyi huta approximately 3km.
